For low temperature environments from 0°F to -40°F (-17°C to -40°C) we recommend our solid Hytrel ® belts, stretched 8%. Good for refrigerated, deep freeze cold rooms, sushi warehouses, and ice cream plants. These cold resistant belts have a good elastic memory, but they must not be overstretched, and they have only fair abrasion resistance. At low temperatures, however, abrasion is usually not an issue. Our 90A durometer Hytrel belts come in a 3/16\" inch (4.8mm) cross-section. Hytrel is also much more chemically resistant than urethane, especially resists most acids and bleach. For temperatures from 32°F to -5°F (0°C to -20°C) we recommend our clear Low Temperature Urethane belting (Cyclothane-E), stretch 10% to 14%. These cold resistant belts have an excellent elastic memory and are very abrasion resistant. Thousands are being used in meat packing plants and other refrigerated environments. Cyclothane-E is also much more humidity resistant than standard urethane.
