Excel Automation supplies light duty or heavy duty slat conveyors for many applications. These are ideal where operators need to work on or around the load whilst the conveyor is moving.

Slat conveyors are generally constructed from individual non-overlapping, non-interlocking slats, fabricated from steel and supported with large chain rollers running on a support frame assembly.

Individual slats form a continuous top surface and can be installed as a single slat conveyor or as two or more parallel lines driven from a common drive arrangement. Where the drive arrangement is driving two or more individual parallel slats, it is normal to have independent tension arrangements for each chain to cater for chain stretch.

Slat conveyors can be continuously moving or indexing, and can be supplied either flush with the finished floor level, or at a working height to suit operational requirements.

Slat conveyors are ideal for conveying large and/or heavy products such as cars, trucks, earth moving equipment, etc. for assembly and/or test applications.

Slat widths can vary considerably and be supplied with various chain pitches, typically from 3 to 18 inches. A wide range of ancillary equipment can also be incorporated into the design, such as static or adjustable fixtures to hold and locate the products. A range of finishes are available for slats including bright zinc plated, galvanized, painted, non-slip paint, etc.
