The load moves over the rollers by gravity or by men force. In other words, products are moved over conveyors between different points that can be at level or at different heights. In case of different heights, the load is simply placed at one end of the conveyor and by gravity it will move to the other end.

The conveyors have become really important in industries that require easy handling of products from one place to another. Conveyor\'s applications vary, from box or package handling in a ware house to sophisticated assembly lines. Conveyors are also common in handling agricultural products in packaging plants. In this cases, the fruit or vegetable is moved by trays or in their respective packaging box depending on the stage of handling.

The conveyors consist, in their simplest form, of two frames joined with rollers or wheels, that carry the loads or products.

The design of the conveyor is basically influenced by the loads to be handled. It is important to understand from the beginning the quantity of rollers needed. The next image shows that is necessary to use three or more rollers to support the load and four rollers or more in case the load has an irregular surface. This way the load will experience no trouble moving over the rollers.
A minimum of three rollers per load. Less than three rollers make the load unstable. Three rollers or more are required for unstable loads.


It is possible to manufacture conveyors on a straight line or in curves, depending on the path needed to carry the load.

To select a conveyor accurately, it is very important to clearly identify the characteristics of the load that will be handled. Once this information is acquired, a conveyor will be designed utilizing the most appropriate roller as well as the optimal structure or frame.
