Astec Conveyors provide a space saving range of spiral conveyors providing continuous, smooth vertical transfer of product (in either direction) from upper and lower levels. The spiral conveyors offers an extremely small footprint compared to a conventional belt conveyor. Spiral conveyors are available in mild steel (painted to a standard RAL colour of your choice) or food quality stainless steel. These versatile conveyors will transport cartons, fresh produce, sacks, cases, tote bins, shrink-wrapped goods, bundles, single cans and bottles.The transport medium is a low friction chain supported by \'sealed for life\' bearings riding on a polyurethane guide surface. This allows for smooth, safe, high speed operation coupled with the benefits of an extremely low noise level and a long, trouble free life.The spiral conveyors standard load capacity is 50kg per metre, an incline angle of between 8-11 degrees (which safeguards against loads slipping) and up to a maximum standard speed of 60m per minute. Widths are between 200mm - 650mm and a twin lane machine (independently controlled lanes) is also available.No complex controls are required as the spiral conveyor system utilises an industry standard SEW braked motor.
