Electric overhead conveyor rails (EHB) im the in the automobile industry

:: 31 July, 2008

Electric overhead conveyor rails (EHB) represent one of the most important conveyor systems in the automobile industry. Within the automotive plant, overhead conveyors support the flow of materials from basic structure to final automotive assembly. A large number of complicated procedures have to be integrated perfectly, requiring impressive concepts and control technology.

Pepperl+Fuchs' block control system prevents a conveyor system, like an overhead conveyor rail, from entering a junction, if this is not in the correct position, or avoids collision in a corner with a vehicle traveling ahead.

The new block point NDN20-F97-EHB includes the following features:

Low amount of assembly work required for installation and conversion

Low investment costs

High flexibility

Depending on the condition of the subsequent block interface of a conveyor system, like an overhead conveyor rail, the NDN20-F97-EHB block point either dampens the NDN20-F96-EFZ vehicle sensor mounted on the vehicle and brings it to a halt, or the block point responds passively and allows the vehicle to move along the overhead conveyor.

Our new block control system NDN20 eliminates the need for complicated rail sections. This reduces costs and makes it possible for you to easily locate the block point. It is not necessary to install a decentralized control system, as the control system is already integrated into the new block point NDN20-F97-EHB.

The block control system NDN20 includes:

A block point NDN20-F97-EHB

A vehicle sensor NDN20-F96-EFZ

Up to four inductive sensors NBB20-L2-A2-C-V1

The code holder is integrated into the vehicle sensor NDN20-F96-EFZ. Our Identification System IP code holder has 40 bit freely programmable code, which opens up a wide range of opportunities for automotive plant system monitoring.
